Leave?
Loving you is like wearing concrete shoes
My feet won't move
In spite of many sledgehammer swings at my toes
In spite of all our woes
In spite of the growl within that screams - go
My legs can't lift the weight
I can't let go
Gravity - the weight of space and time
Intertwined your heart and mine
A single strand of DNA
It can be ripped apart
But nothing whole remains
Just evidentiary stains
It would be proof of stupid
If I stabbed my own soul
I won't
I'll hand you back the knife and plead
Don't cut me again
